Description
Fine Art Print of Stroke of a Brush painting ‘Resilience’ which is part of Red collection.
Resilience is an 18×24″ acrylic on canvas inspired by a visit to Polly Joke in Cornwall and I had an idea whilst I was immersed in the abundance of vibrant and delicate poppies to do a painting as a nod to remembrance.
These poppies are on the sea front and take a battering from all weathers but yet they still stand strong and reappear each year to provide a sight to delight everyone and so resilient to the weather.
The poppy became a symbol of remembrance after a poem was written (In Flanders Fields) following seeing destruction from WW1 landscapes and yet red poppies sprang up. Following this poem a lady was inspired to campaign for the poppy to become the official symbol of remembrance.
It is a reminder to keep holding hope in the hardest of moments ❤️
20% of the sale of the original painting went to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
